Congratulations to Dr. Tirthadipa Pradhan-Sundd who received an ASH Scholar Award to explore how tissue specific changes in cellular senescence contribute to liver failure in sickle cell disease.

The proposed study will identify the molecular mechanisms that can be therapeutically targeted to halt the progression of liver injury in sickle cell disease (SCD) by promoting resolution of hepatic senescence in SCD liver. Moreover, it will also examine the role of p-selectin in regulating liver senescence in SCD.
