Janet Manning, PhD

Research Assistant Professor of Medicine, Division of Cardiology

Research Interests

Nutritive status may drive postranslational non-nuclear protein acetylation in the heart, and can alter the recovery of the myocardium from ischemic injury. Dr. Manning’s research is focused on the enzymatic acetylation of proteins localized to the mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum, and the subsequent impact of these acetylated proteins on metabolism, calcium handling, and survival signaling in the heart.
