We are pleased to announce that Haodi Wu, PhD, will join the VMI with a primary appointment in HVI-Cardiology as an Assistant Professor in the tenure stream on October 1, 2020.

Dr. Wu earned his BS from China Agriculture University and a PhD in Physiology from Peking University. Currently, he is a K99-R00 scholar from Stanford University, working with Joseph Wu, MD, PhD. Dr. Haodi Wu’s group explores cellular mechanisms of cardiomyopathies by leveraging a discovery platform involving the CRISPR/Cas9 engineering of patient-specific inducible pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived cardiomyocytes. Dr. Wu has published first-author studies in JACC and European Heart Journal as well as co-authored high impact discoveries published in Cell Stem Cell, Elife, Science Translational Medicine, and Nature Medicine. As a member of the VMI and HVI, HaoDi will join a growing group of clinicians and scientists investigating human cardiomyocyte pathobiology as well as embark on collaborative ventures with VMI and HVI investigators utilizing genomically engineered iPSC-derived cardiovascular cells.

We look forward to working with Dr. Wu!
